About the Artist
Hi there,
First, thank you for taking time to view my private works featured here on Emerald Coast Abstracts.
A bit about me: I live with my wife and son in vibrant downtown Pensacola, Florida. Pensacola is a perfect blend of historic and coastal living and serves as much of my inspiration in art and life. As a family we adhere to the "blue zone" principles and I highly recommend that to all.
I often get asked, "Todd, when did you start painting?" The reality is I started like many of us in grade school but school, life, career etc... often take center stage. For over 3 decades I devoted all my time to family and work as a healthcare executive. As often happens, I started to realize, creating "things" really fills my bucket, it is a form of giving back that is truly, truly rewarding.
As for my artistic style, as in life, I am a life long student and learner. Right now I am finding abstract and expressionism driving much of my work. What is next? I am on mission to push my boundaries on understanding light and texture. This may push me into more realistic, abstract portraits or atmospheric work, think levels, texture, shadows...a morphing of painting and sculpture in some respect.
